Let’s face it. Most Americans with pickup trucks should not have pickup trucks. They suck in many ways. For me, the biggest problem was keeping my nice tools dry and secure as I went off to college. For this reason, I constructed a totally custom, welded bed for my little truck.

Finished Product

  • Two waterproof compartments with drawers
  • Fully caged in storage area for things I want to lug around long-term
  • Flatbed for furniture, sheets of plywood, or anything else

I mounted a 3d printer in one of the waterproof compartments, which I can run from a large lithium battery (8+ hour prints with engine off) with an inverter. Here it is, printing a replacement part for formula slug at the practice track
